Horse Showing at REC is a privilege. It is reserved for students who have demonstrated the desire, ability, and proficiency to compete and represent REC in a public forum.
Full Care is required for students in their first year of showing and recommended for everyone. REC reserves the right to move exhibitors to full care dependent on the quality of preparation and care demonstrated by the exhibitor. All expenses and financial responsibilities are incurred outside the students’ boarding agreements, lessons, and training programs. A “Pre Circuit/Show” expense will be assessed at the time of entry.
Horse show participants should expect to incur the following customary industry charges:
Horse Showing at REC
Hauling: 1.25-1.50 per loaded mile. Local hauling: $100 per direction
Packing, Loading and Unloading Personal Equipment, Tack Trunks Etc.: $25 per service
Wrapping, Bandaging Legs (two/four): $25/$50
Tack Cleaning (per item): $25
Show Day Training: $75 per horse per day of showing
Classes or “Professional Rides” at the show: $75 per class
Full Day Care: $100 per horse per day on property. Horses requiring to be lunged or ridden or schooled by a professional at any time will require full care.
Partial Care: $75 per horse per day on property
Contract Grooming, Bathing or Stall Support: $15-$75 per day per horse
School Horse Rental: $100 per day
Hotel & Food Expenses: Trainer hotel expenses evenly by horses attending the show
Grooming Stalls: Split evenly by horses attending the show within the “Trainer Split”
Medications: Billed per use (no one is permitted to medicate their own horse)
Braiding: Paid directly to the braider
Full Body Clip: $200
Show Prep, Pull Mane or Partial Clip: $50
Bedding: Paid directly to the show office within the “Trainer Split”
Feed & Hay: Paid directly to the show office customarily within the “Trainer Split” (unless outside feed is required. Many show facilities do not carry Total Equine)
Farrier Services: Case by case basis
Set up & Take Down: Divided equally among horses
After-Hours Care or Supervision: $75 per hour
Horse Show Office Expenses: Class fees, office fees, stall fees, association fees, night watch fees etc. **It is the Exhibitor’s responsibility to pay in the show office before leaving the show.
